Come to Quiet
I readily admit that I created this series for myself.
Perhaps it might also bring calm functionality to someone else.
Come to Quiet is a phrase used by Miss Goldie, protégé of and long-time assistant to FM Alexander. She was a first generation teacher who never started a training course. Her work is passed on by Penelope Easten (along with a great deal of other information) in her book The Alexander Technique: Twelve Fundamentals of Integrated Movement.
Come to Quiet refers to the concept of being in a state of spatial awareness with a regulated nervous system. We use our senses and cognitive processes to arrive in this state. Once there, we find more ease in everyday life: our eyes focus, we find our natural breathing, and both hemispheres of the brain connect and communicate.
